4 October 2009: National Weimaraner Show

The jubilee show will be indoors in a riding arena on the island of Öland.

Judges

We are pleased to announce two English show judges with long experience of the Weimaraner:
Mrs G F Simpson (Sireva) and Miss J A Turner (Rockleyan).

Classes

The following classes are separate for longhairs and shorthairs and separate for dogs and bitches:

  • Puppy class (”valpklass”)
    6-9 months – unofficial class
    Puppies under 9 months are not eligible for any of the official classes.
  • Junior class
    9-15 months
    All exhibits awarded a first prize in this class are eligible for junior competition class.
  • Junior competition class
    All exhibits awarded a HP (honours prize) are considered as promising. A dog of excellent type can be awarded a Ck (champion quality). Only dogs that have been awarded a Ck are qualified to compete in Best Dog/Best Bitch-class.
  • Youngster Class (”unghundsklass”)
    15-24 months, excluding Swedish champions

    All exhibits awarded a first prize in this class are eligible for youngster competition class.
  • Youngster Competition class
    All exhibits awarded a HP (honours prize) are considered as promising. A dog of excellent type can be awarded a Ck (champion quality). Only dogs that have been awarded a Ck are qualified to compete in Best Dog/Best Bitch-class.
  • Working trial/ Field trial class (”bruks-/jakhundsklass”)
    15 months and older, excluding Swedish champions

A) For breeds that need Working trial/Field trial merits to be eligible for CAC (Challenge certificate) competition. Quality grading. Dogs given a 1st grade goes on to competition class. Juniors, Champions or Veterans which are eligible for Working trial/Field trial class and want to compete for the CAC must be entered in this class.

B) For breeds that have Working trial/Field trial class but that do not need Working trial/Field trial merits to be eligible for CAC competition Quality grading. Dogs given a 1st grade go on to competition class. Juniors or Veterans which are eligible for Working trial/Field trial class may be entered in this class.

  • Working trial/Field trial competition class

A) For breeds that need Working trial/Field trial merits to be eligible for CAC competition.
The winner is, if the judge consider him/her to be of champion quality, awarded the challenge certificate (CAC). Any number of dogs placed behind the winner can be given Ck. The CAC or the Ck qualifies the receiver to compete for Best Male or Best Bitch.

B) For breeds that have Working trial/Field trial class but that do not need Working trial/Field trial merits to be eligible for CAC competition Any number of dogs can be given Ck. The Ck qualifies the receiver to compete for the CAC in Best Male or Best Bitch class.

  • Open class (”öppen klass”)
    15 months and over, excluding Swedish champions

    For breeds that have no Working trial/Field trial class or as the examples mentioned below. Dogs awarded a 1st prize go on to Open competition class. Dogs which already have three CAC’s can be entered in this clas instead of Working trial/Field trial class. Dogs which have three CAC’s eligible for Working trial/Field trial class can instead be entered in this class.
  • Open competition class
    Competition class were dogs of excellent type are awarded Ck which gives them the right to compete in Best Dog/Best Bitch class.
  • Champion class
    Only open for Swedish, International or other, by SKK approved, national championtitles Ck is awarded to any number of dogs that according to the judges opinion are considered worthy of their championship. Dog awarded Ck shall compete in Best Dog/Best Bitch class. Dogs entered in Champion class can not be awarded CAC.
  • Veteran class
    8 years of age or more

    Very well preserved veterans can be awarded HP. Veterans of excellent quality and still in full bloom can be awarded Ck and are then eligible to compete in Best Male or Best Bitch class. Provided that the dog has been awarded at least a HP, the Best Dog Veteran and the Best Bitch Veteran should compete for Best Veteran of Breed. Veteran in breeds which need Working trial/Field trial merits for CAC and wants to compete for the CC must be entered in Working trial/Field trial class.
  • Best Dog/Best Bitch class
    All exhibits awarded the Ck or CAC during the day should compete for Best Dog. Winner of the class is awarded Best Dog of Breed. The identical procedure is employed with the bitches. The dog or bitch placed first is awarded the CAC if this has not already been given in the Working trial/Field trial class.The Best Dog and the Best Bitch should finally compete for Best of Breed (BIR) and Best of Opposite Sex (BIM). Not eligible for the CAC is a dog which:

    • a) already has been awarded the Swedish champion title
    • b) is entered in the Champion class
    • c) already has been awarded three CAC’s

    Juniors can be awarded an unlimited amount of CAC’s as they are too young to be able to get their final CAC for the confirmation of the Swedish champion title.

Junior-, youngster-, open- working- and champion class: 250 SEK
Veteran- and puppy class: 125 SEK

Make sure your name and address is clear and mark your payment with the pedigree name of your dog.

Entry form

There is no entry form for the show for non-Swedish entrants. We only require an e-mail to utstallning@weimaranerklubben.se. In the e-mail you should state:

  • the pedigree name and registration number of your dog
  • the name and address of the owner of the dog (including e-mail if possible)
  • which class(es) you want to enter.

Please note! To be eligible for CAC competition, a WCC has to be attached to the entry e-mail.

Entry date

Last day of entry is Sept 4 2009. The entry fee must be available on our account on this day. Please make sure to make the payment well ahead of time!

Pedigree

For dogs that are not registered with the Swedish Kennel Club it is required that you bring your dog’s pedigree and a copy of the pedigree to the show grounds. In addition, you need to be able to provide proof of qualification for dogs entered in field trial class and champion class.
